Arthur Choo

Arthur is an established Singaporean music entrepreneur-educator with over 20 years of teaching and performing experience. Fondly remembered as the man who started with one cajon, he founded BEAT’ABOX in 2011 with the ambition to create a vibrant arts scene in Singapore. Over the years, BEAT’ABOX GROUP has grown to become Singapore’s leading Cajon powerhouse, delivering over 300 performances and workshops to more than 30,000 participants across the region.

As a business owner, Arthur is attuned to current affairs and environmental issues. He recognises the importance of spearheading sustainability efforts, especially for a small country like Singapore. Partly inspired by Stomp from the UK, and through months of R&D, he successfully piloted the first series of green drums and launched Singapore’s first innovative-recycled drumming group, Green Drumming. After an electrifying debut performance at Singapore Expo in 2019, Green Drumming continued to make a sustainable statement at numerous prolific events including Singapore Countdown, Chinese New Year, National Day Parade, and F1 Grand Prix. Today, Green Drumming has evolved into a full-fledged creative service provider for performances, school programmes, corporate teambuilding and community initiatives.

In 2020, Arthur emerged as one of the winners for the Singapore Young Entrepreneurs Award (SYEA) Quality Education and Responsible Supply Chain categories. During the pandemic, he pivoted BEAT’ABOX Group and Green Drumming to provide online tutorials, empowering over 500 students to stay socially engaged through rhythm.

In 2023, Arthur attained a Doctorate in Philosophy (Social Works) and is currently taking his Doctorate in Business Administration.

With Artificial Intelligence (AI) now making waves across industries including the arts, he is inspired to bridge the gap between technology and humanity. He recently founded A.I.R Technology Pte Ltd, an innovative company specialising in developing rhythm-based mobile applications with a mission to foster greater inclusivity in society. The company’s first rhythm game application, Air Drumming is currently under development.
